Seeds are for Planting

Seeds are for planting.  I got a package of seeds awhile back and I don’t even remember from who or why. Normally I would throw them away because what can you do with one little package of seeds?  But this time since I have a few pots outside my doorway, I decided to plant them instead.  The other day I noticed that they are starting to grow, but it’s hard for me to tell the weeds from the actual flowers because there are no blooms.

The same holds true when it comes to accepting the seeds that God sow into our lives. It may seem like a small insignificant package at the time that you receive it, but it has so much potential beyond the naked eye.  In our impatience we may disregard opportunities that seem to carry little reward, while reaching for bigger and better deals.  We may overlook the small church that invites us to speak because it’s not the arena that we are seeking to fill.  Don’t do that!  We need to learn to accept every seed that God plants into our lives.  You never who may be listening and whose life may be changed because of your story.  I accepted such an invitation last month, and many lives were touched by my message and I received a roaring, standing ovation.  In addition, God blessed me financially when I sold $100 worth of books in that little congregation.  This happened at a time when I was out of work.  Never discount small beginnings. Give me the seeds. We all need to tell God that on a daily basis.  This world needs our seeds; seeds of hope, joy, love and peace.  Your seed will not have the same effect as mine.  There is no one who can tell your story.  The calling on your life is on YOUR life!  What God wants to do through you can only be done BY you.  Don’t throw His seeds away.  Plant them and wait patiently for the beautiful flowers that will not only bloom in your life, but also in the life of others.  The arena that you are presently being used in is the practice for what’s to come.  As the minister told me at that little congregation, “You are a BIG deal!”
