Is good ever good enough? No matter what we get we never seem to be satisfied. Just a little bit more seems to be the standard that we hope to reach. Unfortunately, that attitude always leaves you wanting. There were many times when God blessed me and I took it for granted. I got comfortable in a certain space and the “real” Geri showed up. I started to nitpick small things and they soon added up to where a large portion of my day was spent complaining. Now don’t act like you have never been there yourself! If we are not careful, God will remove things to show us just how good we have it. This stripping down to the least common denominator will allow you to start over from the bottom, thus making sure that the next time you reach the top you won’t look down on people, but instead you will look up to them. We need to become better at catching ourselves when we complain, and learn how to immediately shut it down. Don’t get so relaxed with your newfound relationship with God that you think he will overlook your indiscretions. Yes, He loves you and wants the best for you, but He also wants your daily action and deeds to represent Him well.
